Thanks to Child’s Play Communications, I was sent a package with an assortment of Peppa Pig products to review with my kids here on Frugal and Fun Mom.
Let me first start by saying that I was excited to get this review opportunity because I really enjoy the Peppa Pig Series, and I love all of the laughter that is in each episode. If you are not familiar with Peppa Pig, it comes on Nick Jr. and is about a British Pig named Peppa and her family, including her brother George, Mommy Pig, and Daddy Pig.
The first item we checked out was the Peppa Pig Peppa’s Deluxe House Playset. This toy is a portable four room playhouse that opens up. It has 15 play items including a TV, Washer, Bathtub, Oven, and Fridge. Many of these parts have flip pieces allowing for their appearance to be changed.
So for example, a clean sink can be turned into messy, or the TV can be flipped from off to on. It also includes figures Peppa and her brother George. My daughter went nuts for this and has been playing with it ever since.
The Peppa Pig Peppa’s Deluxe House Playset retails for $34.99 and is intended for children ages 3 and up. FYI, if any of the flip pieces come out you may have to assist your little one with getting them back in. My daughter, who will be 4 in November, had difficulty putting them back together if they popped out.
We actually took this set to a play-date, it was a hit with the kids!
The next item we opened was the Fisher-Price Peppa & Friends Painting Together. My daughter went ahead and added its pieces to the playhouse. This set comes with 3 pieces Peppa Pig, Danny Dog, and a flip easel.
Peppa & Friends Painting Together retails for $7.99 and is intended for children ages 3 and up.
Big brother even jumped in and played with little sis.
Of course, once I opened up these items, my daughter was ready for me to put in the Peppa Pig Peppa’s Deluxe House Playset. This worked out great because the DVD has 10 episodes that run for 60 minutes, and since I just had a baby I needed a good distraction for her.
I also did not mind her watching it because it has upbeat episodes, the parents in the cartoons are positive role models, and the shows have great messages. In addition, I like the variety of vocabulary they use, and all of the snorts and laughter in each episode.
Peppa Pig: Muddy Puddles retails for $14.98 and is available for digital download via iTunes for $9.99.
Tea Time with Peppa Pig Hug ‘n Oink Peppa Stuffed Animal
My daughter then begged me to open the Fisher-Price Hug ‘n Oink Peppa stuffed animal. This doll giggles, talks, and snorts with a squeeze. My daughter has been sleeping with her, playing tea party, and watching Peppa Pig episodes with her new friend. This item retails for $21.99 and is intended for children ages 3 and up.
The last item we checked out was the Peppa Pig and the Lost Christmas List Book from Candlewick Press. I don’t know about you, but anytime is a good time to read Christmas Books with my kids. In this story, Peppa Pig saves Christmas by having a great memory and helping out Santa.
This retails for $12.99 and is available at Amazon Peppa Pig and the Lost Christmas List. FYI, there is a coloring poster on the inside of the book cover; my son got a kick out of decorating it.
